How do you make your online videos stand out from the competitions' videos? There are a few things that you can do so that people watch your videos and buy your products over the videos and products of your competition.

The following things are designed to help you get noticed and get more customers to your site because of your videos.

  1. The first thing that you have to determine where you are going to post the videos that you are making for your products and services. Some different places that you can post your videos are on your blog, on your website, and on video hosting sites like YouTube.

The point is that you want to have as many people as possible look at your video. You can also ask your online friends if they are willing to post your video on their blogs. There are places that are going to bring more results than others, and it's a good idea to research which places are going to be the best for the results that you want.

  1. The second thing that you are going to want to do is to figure out what type of video you are going to have. Is it going to be a demonstration video? Is it going to be a sales video? Is it going to be an instructional video? It's important to think about your product and figure out what type of video is going to work best for you and your goals. There are people who make the wrong choice when it comes to the type of video, so knowing what type of video you want is a big plus.

  2. The last thing that you want to do is to think about your target audience. How old are they? What is their gender? What are the things that are important to them? Once you have identified your target audience, you are going to find that things are much better when it comes to making a video. You are going to make a different video for someone who is in their teenage years than someone who is in their mid thirties. Use the knowledge of your target audience to guide you in making your video.

It's important to keep these three things in mind when you are making a video. Knowing where you will be posting your video, knowing what type of video that you are going to have, and knowing who your target audience is will help you make the right decisions when it comes to making a video. A lot of companies have found that a poorly made video has hurt them. If the video is made well but it's not made with the wrong ideas in mind, it's going to hurt your business rather than help it.

Great post! I would add one more factor that is the most often forgotten when companies make a marketing video for the web and that is EDIT. A 15 minute video may sound like a great idea but it probably won't get watched to completion. Online video should be shorter than 3 minutes to be effective. Most of the pieces we produce are between 1 and 3 minutes in length. If you have a ton of ideas - make a series of short videos instead of one long one. It will only help to increase your brand recognition.
