Advertising is almost always essential to promote a business or product, but how can you do that if you have a limited budget? Consider the power of article marketing.

We all want to succeed with our online businesses, but few of us have the financial freedom to spend hundreds if not thousands of dollars on advertising. So what is the small business owner to do? Try article marketing. This is a way in which you can promote your products or services to potential customers without the financial burden of traditional advertising methods.

What is article marketing? It’s a marketing method in which you write articles that are of interest to your particular customer base and publish them online. This method is particularly effective because it can establish you as an expert in your field, increasing your credibility, while driving traffic to your website. In order to do this properly and effectively, though, there are several factors that you must keep in mind when writing and publishing your articles. We’re going to discuss a few of these today.

First, I suggest that you outline the information that you want to detail in your article. In doing this, your articles will present the information to your readers in a concise and focused manner. You don’t want to leave them shaking their heads in confusing, dissolving your credibility. Your article should be related to your products without being a sales pitch. No, instead you want to provide your potential customer with meaningful information that will hopefully leave them wanting more. So take a few minutes to make an outline, stick to it, and provide useful and relevant information.

Create a powerful title. Do not underestimate this step. You may have the most captivating, informative article ever written but if no one is compelled to read it, it is a waste of your time. Choose a title that piques their interest or one that really encapsulates what your article is about. You want to touch their needs or emotions with your title so that they go on to read it.

Keep it short and to the point. Readers are much more likely to read a short, concise article than a long one. People online want their information quickly and have little time or patience to read a lengthy article. The optimum length for an article is 300 to 500 words. If you can communicate your information or ideas within that limit, you will almost assuredly have more readers.

Finally, and most critical for your marketing strategy, is your Author Resource box. This is your opportunity to promote yourself and your website in order to attract traffic. Make sure that your resource box is well-written, stands out from the rest, and encourages the reader to visit your website.

So if your advertising budget is small or non-existent, you can still promote your site and services to the online community. Follow the steps we’ve outlined above and you will see increased traffic and profits.
