I originally became a distributor of candles because the scent was so delicious. I just had to join so I could get my own candles at wholesale. However, once I joined and looked around at the top sellers in the company I learned about what a downline is and I wished I had gotten into multilevel marketing years ago. I have never considered myself a salesperson. I learned from the best that we are all salespeople. It just depends how we are selling and where we are selling.

Have you ever considered selling a product? Have you ever considered being a distributor and selling the product at home parties? Do you think that you would not have the right experience or personality to sell a product? Have you already tried selling a product and got tired of the methods you were taught to sell? Just because you do not have a bold personality and do not like to approach people does not mean you could not sell or would not be good at it. I thought the same thing and had absolutely no desire to sell to my friends. I learned I would not have to do this to succeed.

Today I want to discuss with you just one aspect of selling which goes beyond the home parties and selling at flea markets. I want to discuss the benefits of a downline. What is a downline? A downline occurs when people sign up under you as distributors in a multilevel marketing business and they sell and recruit other distributors resulting in Residual Income to you. What is Residual Income? This is the percentage of income earned by a person on the efforts of his or her downline and is a another form of passive income. Passive income is income earned today for efforts performed in the past. I am wondering how many of you who are currently distributors for a MLM company or are considering multi level marketing actually understand the advantages of a downline. Maybe you are currently selling products. Possibly you sell beauty products or kitchenware as a distributor at home parties. Many people who are distributors for multilevel direct marketing companies only sell at parties and never venture into the area of trying to have a their own downline. Many others do not sell at all but work for companies as assistants, accountants, store clerks, etc. Those companies make lots of money based on the efforts of their employees however ten years down the road those employees still have the same job with the same salary and are no farther ahead unless they have done extremely well at saving money.

I want something different. I want to be able to enjoy my life as I get older and that does not mean working many hours for someone else. Frankly, I want to be out hiking while money is being deposited into my account from the efforts of my downline. That’s Residual Income or passive income. It’s not a myth. It can be obtained and it is being obtained by many people who understand how easy it is to obtain it.

Having the opportunity with a multilevel marketing company to sign up people under you who will earn money and thereby provide you with a percentage of their earnings can result in your having Residual Income on a monthly basis. How does this work? Well, you sign up individuals who have an interest in selling the product and as they grow their business you will receive Residual Income based on how much product they sell. If you have joined a good company which is selling excellent products and has great training resources you will have those people with you for years.
