There are people that think that dieting is the best thing that ever happened to them. They’re looking for that quick fix. What’s wrong with that? They are losing weight. Isn’t that what they wanted? Wasn’t that the goal?
Sure it was, but the way they went about doing it wasn’t the best way to lose weight. As much as these special and fad diets are touted all over, they’re not the next best thing since sliced bread. They’re not what people make them out to be. In fact, depending on diets to lose weight can hurt you more than help you.
In the interim, you will lose weight, but more than likely it won’t stay off. Why? Your body is not made to lose weight fast. That’s what happens when you go on a diet. You lose weight quickly because you’re eliminating some things that you would probably eat if you were not on a diet.
You have changed your behavior to believe that you can lose weight by dieting. However, once you start looking at yourself and seeing what this merry-go-round cycle of losing and gaining weight has done, you should see things differently.
You should want to change your behavior about dieting so that you will be able to lose weight the right way. You have to focus on doing things so that you will get better results. Not only does the dieting trend keep your bound, but it can also keep you in a depressed state. This is not a good thing for anyone.
Examine your behavior when you’re dieting. You have no problems doing it because it supposedly promises a quick fix. There are so many people that look for a microwave solution to a long-term problem.
You can’t put a band-aid on something like weight loss. This is something that takes time to work on and get to where you want or need to be. The faster you lose the weight, the faster you gain it back.
You can change your behavior by changing your mindset and developing new habits – slim habits. You have to be willing to change in order to have a different outcome. If you can’t change, you can’t expect the outcome you want.
Incorporate self-discipline to change your behavior. Once you implement self-discipline to do what you need to do, you will see the results you need to have in order to have long-term, permanent weight loss.
