Let's face it. If you are in the market for home water filtration products, a reverse osmosis water treatment comparison is going to be part of your research. But before you embark upon a time-consuming journey of reading reverse osmosis reviews, you should keep in mind that there's no such thing as sure thing. Every water filtration system has its own set of plusses and minuses. That being said, however, any water purification system is better than no system at all.

The most important thing to remember when doing a reverse osmosis water treatment comparison is that you want to find the product that produces water that is healthier than tap or bottled water, and is affordable and convenient to maintain.

You can approach your comparison in one of two ways: You can read reverse osmosis reviews or you can verify a product's performance by looking at its Performance Data Sheet. In addition to listing all the contaminants that a particular product is certified to purify, and to what level, The Performance Data Sheet will reveal the purchase price and ongoing cost per gallon, including any replacement parts (filter cartridges). Some states, like California require that this document accompany each product that is sold.

You can also look up this information on a company's web site. If you can't find the Performance Data Sheet on the site then that probably means that the company doesn't want you making easy comparisons to other products...because they can't measure up.

Your reverse osmosis reviews will probably also reveal that because this system isn't capable of removing synthetic chemicals and certain types of bacteria, you will be required to purchase a carbon filter to supplement the R.O. system. This is an additional, ongoing cost of maintaining the purifier. Also, a reverse osmosis water treatment comparison may or may not tell you that for every gallon of usable water produced, 2-3 gallons of waste water are created. It is possible to recover this water but, again, its going to cost you.

While reverse osmosis was once considered state-of-the art in water purification technology, there has been a steady decline in the popularity of R.O. systems in recent years. This is because experts now know that it isn't enough just to drink CLEAN water. The water we drink must also be HEALTHY. In its natural state, water is balanced with minerals that are essential to maintaining good health. Becoming mineral deficient has serious consequences for the health of our teeth and bones. Unfortunately, reverse osmosis strips out these important minerals. If you look at the leading brands of water purification, you will find that they no longer employ reverse osmosis or distillation systems.

So what does this mean for your reverse osmosis water treatment comparison? It means that in addition to reading reverse osmosis reviews, you might want to take a look at the latest water purification technologies. I believe you'll find that these newer filtration systems are more efficient, more affordable, easier to install and maintain and can provide you with clean and HEALTHY water. Some of the better purification systems are based upon multi-stage filtration, which efficiently removes contaminants, high chlorination levels and dangerous intestinal parasites, while leaving important minerals untouched. The result is cleaner, healthier, great-tasting water.

Make no mistake about it. When it comes to ANY water purification system, there's no such thing as a sure thing. You can do a reverse osmosis water treatment comparison, or you can easily research and compare the newer, healthier alternatives in home water filtration.
