Okay, this year you want to have the best Halloween Party on the block. One that will be talked about until next year. Well, if this is your goal, then this article is sure to help you plan the best Halloween party of the year.
First, do you wish to plan a party for the kids or the adults? This has quite a bit to do with the various things you will need and how you will decorate. For very young children you will have to tone down the scary things of course. As the children get older of course they loved to be scared, so you can progress your scary decorations accordingly. You must also think of the date. If you plan on inviting children, plan the Halloween party on a night that is different from the trick or treating night. This way the kids can enjoy both.
Now, you are ready to choose you invitations. You can choose to create your own very own or purchase ones already made. When you make out the invitations be sure to include such things as the date, time, and place along with directions if needed. If you wish to have a themed Halloween party, also let your guests know this so they can dress appropriately.
Food. Of course, you will want to have delicious treats for your guest’s such as punch, caramel apples, and pumpkin or witch cookies. For the punch, you can add plastic spiders or other items to make it a bit creepier. Think of your own creations such as tombstone cookies. You can make a tombstone cookie for each guest and place their name on the cookie with the date of death being the night of your party.
Do not forget to purchase pumpkins. What is a Halloween party without a few jack-o-lanterns placed around the room? Use all kinds of decorations from cobwebs to flying witches on brooms to coffins to make your home transform into a spooky place. Candles are also a great choice if your party is geared more toward adults than children. Along with decorating, you will want to find some type of spooky sounds tape at least for the beginning of the party. You may wish to change this for music to dance by later on.
Do not forget your Halloween costume. This will set the mood for your entire Halloween party. You will be the first person your guests see as they walk through the door. If you wait until the last minute to buy your costume, you may end up with Sponge Bob or even an apple costume, not too scary, right?
Games and other activities should be next on your next. This can be anything from bobbing for apples to a trivia game based on Halloween according to the age group. You can always throw in a costume contest. Everyone enjoys this game. Do not forget to have prizes.
Have fun and enjoy the spookiest night of the year!
