Rather than applying talc to the skin of a baby, it would be advised to do nothing and allow air to get to the skin.

More often than not, talc is applied to the bottom to prevent it from becoming damp especially after a nappy change or when wearing a nappy. But there should be times when your baby is just not wearing a nappy at all, and air is allowed to get to the skin.

You can of course create an all natural baby powder and this is actually very simple to make. Just take some arrowroot powder and some chamomile and lavender. Blend this together and when applied to the skin of a baby, not only is the skin kept dry, but it prevents any bacteria from eating and thriving on the skin.

There are also a number of essential oils that can be applied to the skin in order to help keep it moisturised and to help heal any irritations. One of the best oils that can be used on the skin is that of tea tree oil as it is known for its anti bacterial properties, so making it ideal for keeping the skin healthy.

When it comes to washing the hair of a baby, the shampoo that you may have or could be using at present may not seem that innocent. The reason for this is that it will more than likely contain a number of harmful chemicals and so you need to be using a shampoo that contains a number of organic and natural ingredients and also in high percentages.
