Affiliate marketing and google adsense are becoming very popular methods of making money online.

Affiliate marketing is where a merchant pays an affiliate a commission for every sale that is made by the affiliate. The commission is an agreed upon percentage of the item sale price.

The reason that so many people like affiliate marketing is because they do not need to have a product of their own. Which means that they do not have to deal with inventory, delivery or customer service. All they have to do is market the product and collect commission checks on every sale they make.

Technically you do not even need a website. You can just use your affiliate link and send traffic straight to the sales page of the product you are marketing. I do not recommending using this method.

I recommend that you get your own website or blog and write a review of the product you are marketing and also add some unique, relevant and helpful copy about the niche that your affiliate product is in. Not only will you be seen as an expert in the field which will in turn make you more sales, but know you can add google adsense to each page.

Google adsense automatically crawls the content of your pages and places ads on your site that are relevant with the content on the web page. So if you are selling an ebook about golf, then the google ads that will be displayed will be about golf.

You can go into your google adsense account and choose colors and borders on how you want the ads to look on your site. The idea is to have the ads look like they are part of your web site and not ads.

Adsense can help you increase your affiliate income because if the visitor to your site does not click on your affiliate link or fill out your opt in form, then the probability of the visitor clicking on an adsense ad before they exit your site are very good.

Remember the ads being displayed are of the same subject as the content on your page. They came to your site to learn about that particular subject matter. If they did not find what they were looking for on your site, then clicking on one of your adsense ads to find the information they need is very likely to happen. This way you make some money for your efforts if an affiliate sale or subscriber to your list is not executed.
