With the coming of age of the internet super highway, thousands upon thousands of individuals are making money with one affiliate program or another. You can make money with an affiliate program too!

Benefits of Affiliate Programs

- Free to Join

One of the most interesting concepts of being an affiliate marketer, is that you do not have to have your own products or services to sale to others online, because the business or merchant you affiliate with, will have them. All you have to do is find the right type of product or service to sell. Currently, you can join just about any affiliate program for free.

Also you should know that affiliate programs may also be called associate programs, depending on the merchants website. All they need is either your mailing address, or perhaps your PayPal email, so they can send you the money you make when you drive productive online visitors to their sites. Make sure you read and understand the terms of service, no matter which merchant you may use when you make money with an affiliate program.

- Easy to Find

Finding an affiliate program is very easy. Simply use the search engines for them or go to some of the other places like, ClickBank, Google Adwords.

- Commissions

Every merchant website will vary of course, however, here are the most common types of commissions to look for:

* Pay per sale - These can be either a fixed or one time commission or a percentage per sale, which is residual income. Most often you will find that the percentage per sale commissions will keep on paying when someone you lead to a merchant site continues to do business with them. Fixed commissions are generally a one time commission, meaning only once per activity.

* Pay per impression - This commission comes from the appearance of your affiliate page. It generally depends upon the number of advertisements you have to show, rather than on any type of other activity, such as signups, clicks to the merchants website and so on. It is all about appearance and getting their brand name out there for viewers to see. The longer the ad appears, the more you get paid.

* Pay per click - This commission pays you for the number of individual viewers who click on the merchants links.

* Pay per leads - This commission is paid to you by the merchant for all those new customers you traffic to their website, who takes the time to fill out forms. Once confirming the information, you get paid a percentage. It is similar to a referral.

Other types of affiliate programs may also include a leverage income commission. This means you make money when you recruit others who want to make money with affiliate programs.

When you choose an affiliate program you should really choose those that interest you the most or that you use yourself. You can promote your affiliate programs products or services by placing ads, which are generally supplied by the merchant. You can always try the product and then write a review or an article about the merchants products and then submit them to the various online article directories. You can make money with affiliate programs.
