In this article I'm going to talk about one of my favorite strategies to help you achieve your goals in your dental practice growth. In my previous articles I have talked about writing up your top 5 to top 10 goals for your dental practice growth; then create a list of five action steps for goal No.1, and then take action instantly on that day. Then we talked about identifying a mentor or a coach who can help you accomplish your goals rapidly. Taking these steps is very important if you ever want to achieve growth in your dental practice. And this is something we focus specifically at our dental practice growth website!

Now, on to the next step. The next thing that I would like you to do (and this is one of the most important things that you have to do for your dental practice growth) is that I want you to look at your CLF. CLF means your Critical Limiting Factor. So I have this goal and I have this end result that I want. I have identified some action steps. And by now, if you're taking action you will have experienced a couple of challenges. And that's a good thing! Those challenges are going to be the raw material that we convert into and transform into the actual knowledge, habits, attitudes, every action steps that we act on to accomplish the next goal. So what you're going to do now is that you're going to stop and ask yourself this question: "Out of all these things, what is the one thing that if I remove it out of my way, or if I learned this one skill set, would open up the flood gates to allow me to accomplish my goals at a much faster rate?". Now with this question in mind, let's take for example a hose. Now, if you let the water flow inside it and then you put your finger up against the tip of the nozzle, the spray is in a scattered way. So what happens is that the water is getting through, but its getting through in spatters. Now the Critical Limiting Factor here is the finger, because it is the one that "holds back" the flow of the water. In order for the water to get flow efficiently, you need to remove the finger which is holding the flow of the water back.

Now let's go back in accomplishing your goals in the growth of your dental practice. The good news here is that you're getting results, and the bad news is that sometimes you may think that you're only getting in a few things through or only moving slowly, so therefore you think of yourself as a loser, a failure, and that you're not doing this quickly as some of the people around you are (Well, that's because you're going through the grind; and you'll learn it!). The other thing here is that you're actually getting end results. So that's a positive thing. The bad news is that you have this false sense of accomplishment because you're getting some results, but you're not getting overwhelmingly successful results that are potentially yours because you still have this Critical Limiting Factor in your life. Now when you've identified that certain CLF in your life, it might be a habit. One of the stories that I teach a lot is early on when I was learning about direct response marketing and trying to learn how to make money, one of the things I realized was that my most Critical Limiting Factor was the inability to write sales copy, like typing it out. And I did not understand direct response 2-step or 3-step marketing. So I had to then begin everyday at 6 or 7am just practicing writing copy everyday. And now I can write a copy without even thinking of it! And that is something that I committed to do and I went through the grind. I was horrible at it for a long time but i bought courses, listened to audio, went to seminars on a daily basis, and that's the biggest thing! One of my mentors told me that people go and decide they want to get in shape. So they go to the gym and work out, and once they come home they look at themselves in the mirror and they notice that nothing has changed. So they're going to think about quitting. But the thing that you have to realize is that through this process, you are planting seeds along the way. So from my previous steps that I have imparted to you, you might have taken action steps; you might have done the exercise I told you to do and then no results came in your way that were positive. They may just have been like nothing really big. But the thing is you are planting seeds and you're getting feedbacks.
