Even though they look the same, there are a lot of differences between a van and a car. It is possible to categorize van insurance into the following ways:-

‘Full inclusive of all insurance’ – It is a very expensive aspect of insuring. It covers the claimant from a large no. of problems. Be it a flat tire or a much more regular problem like an accident.

‘Fire Insurance’ – This is an important kind of insurance for young drivers. It ensures that a young driver is covered against any problem in case of fire or is involved in theft. Even in the case where a third party is involved and is claiming the money. ‘Insurance for the third party’ - It is a very basic and cheap sort of policy. It is the minimum amount cover required for any van. It saves the owner against any claim made by a third person.

It would be good at this point to study how van insurance works.

To get a van insurance, a person’s vehicle should not ferry less than four people, it should be custom made to carry goods and must have a weight of around 3 tones or less. Many agencies also keep a requirement for persons to be of the age of ‘21 of above’. It is risky for issuing insurance for people aged below that age and premiums are too costly.

Also important to note is the fact that many agencies do not include instruments like car tools for providing cover. Although, a small no. of companies do include them for providing cover. But the premium for those insurance covers is very expensive. Hence, it becomes essential to insure such parts separately. This may prove to be cheaper in the long run as the premium on them is much low.

If a person’s car is used for motor trade or for full time driving purpose, then the quote to be made for insurance purposes has to be a very specific one. Most insurance agencies have to be let known of this fact.

A large no. of people out there still believes the fact that they can get their van insured under normal car insurance. However, it is not so. Separate van insurance must be issued for a van and not clubbed under car insurance. It is important to let the agency know about each and every detail about their vehicle to let them know everything about their car.
