The best cosmetic make up remover is one that contains safe and natural ingredients. You can also make removing cosmetic make up easier, by applying a special cream before you apply your foundation. I’ll tell you a little more about that later on. But, first, let’s look at some ingredients that you should avoid.

Sodium Methyl Paraben

I won’t mention any manufacturer’s name, but there are still a lot of companies that use this preservative in their products, even though it has been banned in the European Union. The label says that you can use wipes containing this substance for removing cosmetics safely. But, I don’t think that cosmetic make up remover should have a "de-pigmenting" affect. What do you think? If I wanted lighter skin, there are safer ways to get it.

BHA

This is another common preservative found in products for removing cosmetic make up. It is also another that has been banned by the EU, because it is unsafe. It is a possible human carcinogen that accumulates in the fatty tissues and will penetrate the skin. If you are interested in removing cosmetics safely, don’t buy products that contain it.

Added Fragrances

Almost all products for removing cosmetic make up have an added fragrance. It might be a natural fragrance like Eugenol or linalool. It might be a chemical compound and manufacturers are not required to list which chemicals are used to make the scent. Added fragrances of all kinds, along with artificial preservatives, are the most common causes of allergic reactions.

Look for products that are free of artificial preservatives and fragrances. Organic ingredients make the best cosmetic make up remover.

Before You Put on Your Make-up

For removing cosmetics safely and easily, apply a cream containing the following ingredients before you put on your foundation. Use it right after you wash your face or finish drying off.

The ingredients to look for include:

*Functional Keratin, forms an invisible barrier that helps the skin retain its moisture and prevents dirt grim and makes removing cosmetic make up easier. In clinic studies, Funtional Keratin cream has been shown to increase firmness and skin cell proliferation, fade wrinkles, scars and stretch marks. *HEQ10, a combination of the antioxidants coenzyme Q and natural vitamin E, protects the skin’s cells from free radical damage, delays the signs of aging

*Passion fruit extract, prevents excessive oiliness or dryness by regulating sebum production.

If the cosmetic make up remover that you choose is safe and all natural, like the cream that you use ahead of time, you’ll go a long way towards protecting your skin’s appearance…and its health. Hopefully, these facts about removing cosmetics safely will help you take the right approach.

If you are careful about everything that you use on your face and body, you might be able to look years younger, than you actually are. A safe cosmetic make up remover is a good first step.- (Minnie) Margaret Bell
