The ankle is a compound joint, which is formed by the lower leg bone’s articulation with the talus. In addition, ankle is what connects the foot to the leg.
An ankle injury happens when there is a forced abnormal rotation, inversion, or rotation of the ankle. In addition, it also happens when there is a significant forceful impact on the ankle.
The degree of the ankle injury will depend on the amount of force applied to it. Though a large number of it heals with just rest and support, people who suffer from an ankle injury usually have a hard time doing the things they normally do everyday, specifically walking.

• Clumsily planting your foot when stepping up or down, running, or doing a common routine like getting out of your bed
• In athletic events wherein a player steps on the foot of a another player
Preventing this injury can be simple. In order to prevent the risk of obtaining this injury, here are some tips that you can follow:
• when you are participating in a certain sport, think of putting a tape on your weak ankle to provide it with extra support
• maintain the flexibility and toughness of your ankle by consulting your doctor regarding some strengthening exercises
• always wear the proper shoes that will suit the activity you will do
Ankle Fracture Ankle fracture is obtained when a bone or when bones that make up the ankle are broken. In addition, this injury is obtained when the ankle joint is stressed beyond its limits.
The ankle may be fractured in various ways including:
• when the ankle is twisted side to side
• the joint is severely flexed or extended
• when the ankle is rolled in or out

Ankle Strain
Ankle strain occurs when there is a tearing or overstretching of the tendons or muscles of the ankle.
Ankle strain may be obtained due to various reasons including:
• awkward range or movement of motion that lead to the tendons and muscles being overstretched
• severe force to the ankle which is a result from the involvement in an accident or sport
• cyclic movements of the tendons and muscles
