For years everyone practically took it already for granted that in home audio, cables can have a significant impact on a sound system, both good and bad. Is there a way to maximize every beat and throb from this Carlos Santana concert DVD? How do I make sure I don't miss not even a single pow or sock or smash during the Grandfather of All Lightsaber Duels? In other words, get the right cables and you can straight-away look forward to a system in a new groove. On the other hand, make the mistake of getting poorly designed audio cables, and you may forever be wondering what on earth is wrong with your pricey system.

Car audio however, are totally different animals here. Even though a lot of companies make available coaxial interconnect cables, most audio connoiseurs are now more aware that the basic twisted pair design presents unparalleled noise rejection in a car audio system. In light of this, it seems improving and upgrading has come to a complete dead-end when it comes to shielded twisted pair interconnects in auto audio systems. Indeed, is there sense in getting high end audio cables for your boom boxes on wheels?

For starters, let’s cover a bit of home audio. After many years of fielding arguments that cables are negligible elements, what is becoming a mainstream ideology among audiophiles is the contrary, that audio cables actually help the sound to be better. But audiophiles say they are not the only ones saying there's a difference. But they also insist that, even if the testing occurs in a modest audio system, the thing to do is to get rid of any preconceived bias and actually take in the music.

Now, if indeed audio cables matter a lot in audio systems in home theaters and entertainment systems, is there a reason why it shouldn’t play important roles in car audio? Of course the answer is a resounding no. I will attempt one or two arguments why cables are just as integral, if not more, when it comes to car audio.

Vehicles present thorny and challenging work spaces for cables, much worrisome than what home audio systems demand. Now, nobody can deny that noise is capable of entering audio cables, and there are two normal sources of it: Electro-Magnetic Interference (EMI) and Radio Frequency Interference (RFI). What happens in autos is that the entire chassis is often times used as the ground return path. The disadvantage in this is that feedback from car components such as the alternator is permitted to be transmitted into the audio cables via EMI.

Boiling it all down, what many people want to go after is quality sound in their vehicles. If you are getting and putting in an aftermarket system in your vehicle and you really have major things to insist about sound quality, you need to give consideration, too, to the cables you will use. But, on the other hand, if you are only out to get yourself the car that blares the loudest bang with budget speakers, then high fidelity audio cables might not be able to perform their very best for you. Car audio enthusiasts also strive to be ahead as the most devote home audio enthusiasts, and now there is finally a cable company that is serious about serving their needs.
