You just unveiled your new blog on your experiences as a widget user. You are the widget expert and you want everyone to know how to use them, what they do and so on. So what is a widget? It doesn’t matter for the sake of this article, what matters is getting your knowledge in front of the eyes of other widget users.

Many people think that you simply can throw up a blog or web site, and automatically people find it and they become the next eBay or Amazon. Unfortunately that is probably the furthest thing from the truth. Just like a brick and mortar business, building your website takes some work as well. You could spend a lot of money on advertising but why would you do that when you can get people to visit your website for free. What I am about to tell you is how I took a website from no visitors to two thousand visitors each and everyday.

Your website or blog is about something and that something makes you an expert on the subject (or at least you should be). Now write an article about that something at least 400 words in length. Your article should educate the reader or have helpful tips on your subject. If you sell digital cameras, you could write an article on taking good pictures. Once your article is written, at the end of the article you will put a resource box. In this resource box will be a link to your website or blog. An example of a good resource box would be, "John Doe, is the owner of XYZ Cameras. To learn more about XYZ Cameras visit their website at {insert your web address here}".

So you have this well written article with a resource box that links back to your website and you are probably wondering what the heck you do with it right? You will take that article and submit it to article directories such as Bukisa (my favorite), Article Dashboard and Ezine.

These directories get thousands of visitors looking for quality content for their web sites or blogs. Imagine if your article was picked up by a couple hundred people, you would then have a couple hundred websites promoting your website and it didn’t cost you a dime! Seem unreasonable? Well it’s not. Sure your article may get only one person to pick it up, but I have had over 1000 people pick up a couple of my articles. This does work, it takes some of your time but with this method you can promote your website for free.

Now all you have to do is repeat this process on a daily basis and in 30 days you could build your website or blog up to 2000 hits per day and maybe even more. The more time and effort that you put into this the more you will get out of it just like anything else in life. Good luck!
