Rajasthan is the largest state in India according to its predominant area width. It has Pakistan to its west, Gujarat to its west, Madhya Pradesh to its east, and Uttar Pradesh, Haryana and Punjab at its north.

The Capital city is Jaipur. Thar Desert lies to the west of Rajasthan. One of the world’s oldest mountain range, the Aravalli, the Mount Abu hill station, the National tiger caves namely Ranthambore and Sariska, Bharatpur National park famous for birds are the places in Rajasthan known worldwide.

Endowed with natural beauty and a great history, tourism is flourishing in Rajasthan. The palaces of Jaipur, lakes of Udaipur, and desert forts of Jaisalmer are among the most preferred destination of many tourists, Indian and foreign. Tourism accounts for eight percent of the state's domestic product. Many old and neglected palaces and forts have been converted into heritage hotels. Tourism has increased employment in the hospitality sector.

To be highlighted, the spin-off of tourism has been the growth of the handicrafts industry. The tourism covers the main cities and towns of the state where the tourists would fall in for its scenic beauty and other remarkable constructions. Tourism Jaisalmer, the "Golden City", is located on the western frontier of India in the state of Rajasthan. Jaisalmer is a town that stands on a ridge of yellowish sandstone, crowned by a fort, which contains the palace and several ornate Jain temples. Many of the houses and temples here are finely sculptured. It lies in the heart of the Thar Desert. The city is known by the Jaisalmer Fort. Unlike other forts in India, the Jaisalmer Fort has lot many shops, hotels, old havelis (homes) inside the fort area. The Jaisalmer Fort is also called as the ‘Sona Kila’ since construction is made using the yellow stone kind. Gadi Sagar, a rainwater lake supplies water to the city. Boat rides are offered. Jaisalmer is famous for camel trips.

The mostly frequented havelis in Jaisalmer are Patwon-ki-Haveli, Salim Singh-ki-Haveli and the Nathmalji-ki-Haveli. The Desert Culture Centre, Jaisalmer Folklore and the Government Museums are the noticeable museums in Jaisalmer.

JAIPUR The Jaipur or ‘Pink city’ is a must-see for all the tourists coming to India. The city is built of pink stucco which is an imitation of sandstone, and is remarkably noted for the width and regularity of its streets. The Jaipur palace encloses the Hawa Mahal, or palace of winds, gardens, and a small lake. Nahargarh Fort lies in the northwest corner of the old city. Jantar Mantar, a well planned observatory is a collection of architectural astronomical instruments for measuring time, predicting eclipses, tracking stars in their orbits and other astronomical factors. Jaipur, with its rich and colourful past, well known for its tales of valour and bravery is now one of the most important heritage cities in India. Jaipur is considered to be one of the best planned cities. The extraordinary beauty is that, there is a timeless appeal to Jaipur's colorful bazaars selling trinkets and handlooms which attracts the sight of the tourists mainly.
