We all want to look and feel better. Who doesn’t want to see themselves in the mirror as a thinner person, maybe a bit more tone or muscular? I am sure you would like to be able to jog around the block a few times without passing out right?

What if I told you there is way you can lose all of the weight you want, and you wouldn’t have to buy some stupid piece of equipment you see on TV that claims outrageous and erroneous results.

Well there is a way, and it won’t take anything more than dedication, determination and following a set plan. It is so guaranteed to be an excellent means to lose weight that you will more than likely lose anywhere from 4 to 7 pounds just in the first week. I have seen friends lose over 30 pounds in 12 weeks!

The simple strategy to losing weight is, you guessed it, eating a healthy nutrition plan. It might sound like a lot of work and thoughts of eating salads and cottage cheese might be dancing in your head, but I can tell you, if you use the information I am about to give you, it will be easy, fun and as the weight starts to melt away, you will be wondering why you didn’t do it sooner.

Your first step to eating healthy is to change what you are eating. Each one of your meals (six of them actually – we’ll get to more on that in a moment) should consist of equal portions of protein, carbohydrates and green vegetables. Your protein sources should be lean meats, fish, poultry, egg whites or egg substitutes. Good carbohydrate sources or carbs for short should be multi-grain breads and cereals, oatmeal, brown rice, potatoes and fruits. For your green vegetables they should be, well, green. In other words, spinach, broccoli, asparagus and mixed greens in a salad are all good sources.

Now that you know what you should be eating, you also need to know how much of each you can eat. That is called a portion size. You could measure everything out and weight things and all that cumbersome stuff, but I find it easier to make a clenched fist and make my portion sizes equal to that clenched fist. No measuring involved and my fist goes with me everywhere I go. So since I am lugging it around anyway, I mind as well put it to use.

So you now know that you will be eating healthy proteins, carbs and green veggies and that a serving size of each of those are the same size as your clenched fist. The final step is determine when to eat. Simply put you will eat six meals each and everyday, and you will spread them out by eating one meal every two and a half to three hours. You do this because you are giving your body a constant supply of healthy energy and that keeps your metabolism running. Your metabolism is the process by which your body burns fat. If your metabolism is always running, then your body is always burning fat.

You see. I told you it wouldn’t be that hard and you wouldn’t have to buy a bunch of garbage products. Of course you should always consult with your primary care physician prior to starting any type of nutrition or weight loss program.
