Do you feel that you have the freedom of laughter? Everyone has that freedom or choice. The choice we make whether it is to laugh or not to laugh affects our lives in many different ways. I had rather discuss the positive side of laughter and the feelings you acquire from laughter. Laughter helps people to feel that they are in control of their situations and this makes them seem more manageable. It gives them a feeling of freedom from fears, anger and stress. It certainly improves the quality of life. Laughter brings in positive emotions that can be used to help relieve stress. If we are to feel free we will have to get rid of stress.

Long term stress can have a serious impact on all parts of the body as well as cause us to age faster. A study made about stress showed that being involved in a positive event or even knowing you were going to be involved reduced levels of stress and increased levels of chemicals that would aid in relaxation. These feelings of optimism give a feeling of freedom from stress.

Do you ever feel that you have the "blues"? Depression and heart disease go hand in hand. If you are depressed you are at risk for heart disease. Depression can be treated and medication taken and in most cases is effective. There is something to be added to that is you must put your mind in a positive attitude. Get your mind right and your body will follow its lead. This is where humor and laughter play a big part. It is your job to make sure that you have laughter in your daily activities. Laughter is free if you are willing to take the time to enjoy it. You need to make it a habit to include funny videos, books and etc. in your routine. These have a relaxing effect and will give the feeling of freedom. Always select entertainment, music and TV programs that will give you a list. This is where your freedom of choice makes you have a feeling of freedom.

There was a person that had lost their spouse, lived alone and felt sorry for themselves. Rather than find new entertainment, music and TV programs, they stayed with the old. Even the music they listened to was sad tear jerking songs. They made the choice to stay sad rather than move on and free themselves of the past. Even though they had the freedom of choosing to be sad or the choice of laughter they chose to be sad. They could make a difference just by selecting music that is not sad and then try to include programs and entertainment that is funny. They need to see and hear something each day that is filled with laughter.

It is their choice to make the effort if they are to enjoy feelings of freedom. Laughter can even give you a feeling of freedom from pain. A study of children undergoing painful medical procedures needed less pain medication while they watched a funny video. Laughter gave them relaxation that responded to the nervous system. This gave the children a feeling of freedom from pain. Have you had a day when you did not feel well? What did you do about it? Maybe a good laugh was what you really needed to give you a good feeling. This is a time when you need to involve yourself in upbeat music, funny videos or maybe call a friend that can tell you a funny joke. To obtain a feeling of freedom you have to be in control of your mind. Laughing is a habit. If you do not have laughter as a daily activity, rewrite your schedule today. Soon you will enjoy the laughter that gives you a feeling of freedom.
