Now that the historical inauguration of America's 44th president is over, what’s next? Life continues and there will be the struggle for change, a time to move forward, a time for unity, the comfort of hope and the chance to propel to destiny. What role will you play in the realization of these dreams?

As this question surfaces, the answer comes with a time for less grumbling, blaming, condemning and judging. It is a time to take real actions and press toward your personal dream as well as the collective dreams of the American people to make America a better place to live and enjoy life to its fullest.

FOOD FOR THOUGHT form a couple of people I follow:

"Now that 2009 has arrived, you must decide if you are going to make it the best year of your life. To do so, you must focus on self-mastery as the key to creating a personal revolution.

Self-mastery is a lifelong pursuit because life is a work in progress. You never totally arrive; there's always some polishing to do, knowledge to gain, and love to deepen.

Self-development ends only when we run out of time. You are, and will always be, a self in evolution.

Who can't improve a little as a parent, child, spouse, friend, citizen, or employee? No one is perfect; no one walks the straight and narrow line all the time. The absence of perfection leaves the door open for improvement.

Our fight is not external; it lays internally-mastery over self. The aim of personal development is self-mastery. If we are to dominate events and experience greater levels of performance, we must first dominate ourselves.

Let there be no doubt: as long as you continue to blame others instead of assuming your responsibilities, you will make no meaningful and enduring change for the better." Rick Thompson.

Joel Osten has this to say in his TODAY’S WORD

Crowned With Abundance

Today's Scripture

"You crown the year with a bountiful harvest; even the hard pathways overflow with abundance" (Psalm 65:11, NLT).

Today's Word from Joel and Victoria

Do you see this year as being crowned with a bountiful harvest? Notice, God didn’t say He would crown with a "barely-get-by" harvest or a "just-let-me-survive" harvest. No, He blesses His people with an overflow harvest. Even the hard places overflow with abundance. Our attitude should be "2009 is going to be a great year. I can already sense it! Favor is coming my way. Blessings, good ideas, promotions already have my name on them!" As long as you stay faithful and keep sowing good seeds, eventually that harvest will find its way into your hands.

Do your part to make sure you are ready to receive at the right time. Make sure you aren’t holding on to negative mindsets, mediocrity, disobedience, sin, fear, or anything that would hold you back or keep you from God’s best. I encourage you today to take inventory of your thoughts, attitudes, and actions. Ask the Lord to show you any area of your life that needs adjusting. As you keep an open and humble heart before the Him and diligently follow His commands, you will receive the bountiful harvest He has in store for you.

A Prayer for Today

Father in heaven, thank You for Your peace, joy, and provision. I trust You today knowing that You have good things planned for me this year. Search my heart and know me so that I can live a life that is pleasing to You. In Jesus´ Name. Amen.
