Power Of The Mind: Keys To Effective Dieting

A healthy mind leads to a healthy body. Do whatever your mind tells you to do and your body will follow. A successful dieter must have self control, focus and relaxation. These three psyche powerhouse will help you, not only in effective dieting, but also in your day to day life. I will spend a moment discussing this very important step first, since this will be your foundation in dieting. Without this, you will always end up in a pitfall of dieting encompassing a whirlpool of frustration and dissatisfaction within yourself, your life, and the people that is surrounding you.

Relaxation:

Find a place that relaxes you. This is called your inner sanctum. You have to find this place to gain inner peace. I'm quite sure you've always had an area of inner peace within you; you’re the only one who knows where it is and only you can find it. Once you're in there, close your eyes and do not think of anything. This is called emptying your thoughts. Now close your eyes and do slow pace breathing. Inhale slowly from your nose then breath out through your mouth. Do not hyperventilate. Repeat the process for 3 minutes. That’s all you need 3 minutes of your precious time.

Focusing:

Remember you cannot focus if you are not relaxed. When I say focusing, that simply means you apply relaxation with focusing and you will incorporate these two in your day to day routine. You will apply it in every task you do, at any given time,in any kind of situations. Pay attention to what you're priorities are for that day. You need concentration to focus. Always keep in mind that people that are always distracted tend to focus on the wrong aspects of their lives. What's the end result? Failure!!!

Self Control:

Self control will follow naturally after you’ve mastered the first two. It is the easiest of the three areas because with relaxation and proper focusing, you don’t need to search for self control. It will automatically blend itself within you. You will not have self control unless you learn how to relax and focus. These two are the strong ingredients in self-control.

Notice how I pay huge attention about the aforementioned topics. Don't worry, the rest will be a piece of cake. Now that your foundation has been laid out, we can start the rest of the game plan.

5 Simple and effective ways to lose weight.

1.) Set realistic goals on how much weight you want to lose in a week and/or month. Folks, please focus on the word REALISTIC and do not set your goals too high that it's going to frustrate the heck out of you.

2.) Zero in on your diet and proper selection of food and drink. We all know what makes us gain weight. Focus on eating less sugar and carbohydrates, but instead, eat foods that are high in fiber and protein, they last longer in your stomach and it will not make you hungry right away. Eat 3 small meals a day and snack on fruits or nuts in between meals. Drink 8-10 glasses of water a day. Water not only cleanses your system, but it also suppresses your hunger

3.) Exercise at least 3 times a week for at least 20 minutes a day. Do cardio, then lift light weights with lots of repetitions for toning. Do not lift heavy weights since this will add bulk in your body and not tone your muscles. Remember to consult with your doctor first before engaging in such activities.

4.) Choose the right appetite suppressant or diet pill and of course consult with your doctor first. This last step must be incorporated with the above. The first 3 steps will most likely do the work, depending on how disciplined you are. This last step actually makes the process easier and less torturing and it helps with the cravings that a dieter endures. What works for me are Hoodia Gordonii diet pills. These are derivatives from a cactus plant from the Kalahari Dessert of Africa. Report made by Leslie Stahl from 60 minutes showed the effectiveness of this appetite suppressing cactus that the tribe San bushmen of South Africa uses when they go for hunting so they won't get hungry. Hoodia is not a stimulant and up to this time, there are no known side effects reported since public consumption. Beware of fake hoodias. Make sure you buy hoodia products that are from South Africa and not from China or Mexico. If you select an appetite suppressant diet pill, pick something that has no caffeine or ephedra in it. Most appetite suppressant contain these two ingredients and that’s why hoodia is a better choice when it comes to choosing diet pills since it is not a stimulant and it does not contain caffeine or ephedra. Don’t take all your dosage in the morning; take your hoodia 1 to 2 hours before meals so you won’t starve your body the whole day.

5.) Do self evaluation. Ask yourself, what was the outcome of my goal?. Did it work? Was my goal met? If your goal was to lose 10 pounds in 2 weeks and you only lost 5 pounds, then adjustments has to be made within your plan. You relax and focus then concentrate on the areas you think you need to work on. The key is not to be hard on yourself. Be contented with what you've achieved. Be patient and positive. Do not be a victim of obsession and compulsion these are signs of negativism. Do not be a perfectionist when it comes to evaluating your self. Be contented and satisfied with small progress.

Why do most dieters end up in the twilight zone of a revolving door diet? Lack of mind power. Effective dieting not only involves the food you eat or the exercise you do. It heavily involves your mind set and psyche power. The essence of proper mind training is to perceive what’s sorrounding you, and learning how you intertwine your mind and body effectively. We all know that a healthy mind leads to a healthy body. Do whatever your mind says, and your body will follow.
