As long as I can remember I’ve enjoyed the outdoors. Camping, hiking, spring blooms in the garden and so on. As an adult I find myself just savoring the peace and beauty of nature. My most relaxing activities might involve feeding and observing the birds in the yard; or just inviting friends and family over for visit. What better way to enjoy your yard sanctuary then with the pleasant sound of wind chimes playing relaxing melodies in the back ground? I adore the unique tones of wind chimes and feeding birds so much that I started my own on-line business www.ChimesAndBirds.com to help share the experience with others.

Wind chimes have been around for thousands of years and stem from many different cultures. They’ve been used in a variety of ways including to ward off evil demons, spirits & ghost. Farmers have used them to scare off birds and other animals from their cultivated fields. Although none of my wind chimes seem to scare off the wild life in my yard! With wind chimes placed in the yard or in your home, you can start to feel the soothing tones lifting away the days’ stresses. It doesn’t take much of a breeze to catch the sail and move the clapper. In turn, this will start to create a place of peace and balance with the music produced by the chimes. The tones and sounds of wind chimes can truthfully change the mood and energy of any living space!

There are actually hundreds of styles and sounds to choose from; hand tuned metal, decorative, short or longer. Every wind chime basically contains the same components to generate the musical element. For deep tones pick a long chime with wide diameter tubes. For higher sounds choose short chimes with narrow diameters. Check out other friends & families chimes to help you find the perfect one to suite your taste.

Along with the many varieties of wind chimes, you’ll find a large selection of materials they can be made of. Most popular are the metal, bamboo, ceramic & glass. What musical tones that are produce will vary, depending on the material used to make the chime. Just give them a little wind power and start to relax to the tranquil sound produced!

With proper placement and minor maintenance of wind chimes you will appreciate years of musical pleasure. Never use hard abrasive cleaners or rags to remove dirt, tree sap, bird droppings, etc. To clean metal parts use a soft cloth and something like WD-40. Other materials can be cleaned with a mild soap and water solution. Maintenance is quick and simple and will help maintain there new look for years to come! When placing your wind chimes, please remember your neighbors! If you live in an apartment type environment they might not appreciate a large cathedral chime clanging into the night. Remember, chimes don’t need a lot of breeze to dance and make music. If there is a high wind threat, you might want to bring them indoors until the winds clam down.

I hope this will inspire you to start enjoying the relaxation that comes with wind chimes placed in your home, garden or yard. Visit our on line store www.ChimesAndBirds.com to choose the perfect wind chimes for your yard or home today!
