One of the most important aspects of multi level marketing is getting out there and getting your hands dirty meeting people and establishing connections. Some of most successful and top network marketing companies get that way because of a strong network. Networking is the key to this particular style of marketing. However, it isn't as easy as simply schmoozing with strangers. There is an art to it.

Here are a few of the best tips of properly networking:

The proper way of thinking

Nearly all of your success with networking, and anything you do, is dependent on the attitude you bring to the table. It affects everything else. You can either go into a meeting or conversation with either a negative or positive attitude. Negative thoughts such as "I shouldn’t bother that person" or "I can’t do it," will have you fail right from the beginning. No network marketing business is successful if they never try.

Think of any positive qualities you bring to a situation or business. Create a list of those attributes and bring it to any possible networking events and opportunities with you. Hopefully, this list can give you some added confidence to approach people.

What do you have in common with others

You may think this is more difficult than it really is. You have much more in common with other business people than you may believe. If you are at an expo about multi level marketing, there is a strong possibility you will have something in common with these reps from the top network marketing companies there. Knowing this you already have a connection and an opening to a conversation. Remember commonalities create relationships. Plus, no one said you need to talk to the same person the entire time. Be a social butterfly and move on talking with other's after conversing with one person for a few minutes.

Bring business cards with you

You never know what you will be doing or where you are at when you may need a business card. It could be at a dinner, at the supermarket, or at an industry event. Don't miss out on a wonderful chance to establish a business connection with new and crisp business cards. Don't hand any cards which may be old, dingy, dirty, or torn. Remember, many people will only remember you from a networking event based on your business card.

Always ask open-ended questions

Never ask closed-ended questions which can be answered with one word answers. They can often kill a conversation but they also don't provide very much information either. Open-ended questions invite conversation. Listen and use cues like nodding and say "uh-huh" from time to time to let the other person know you are genuinely interested.
