Typically if you are running a profitable online business, you have done so by partnering with others who can help promote your product or service even further. And if you are online but have not yet done this, joint ventures or jv’s as they are often referred to as, are the way to go.

So, how do you find joint venture partners? What should be offered to them to entice them to partner with you? And what kinds of contests are typical to motivate them?

The true answer to finding joint venture partners is to meet them in person at seminars. If you don't feel like doing that then the second way to find joint venture partners is by simply going online. Go to Google.com and search for things such as your "niche with tips", your "niche with newsletter", your "niche with e-course", your niche with – whatever your niche name is.

So, if you’re in the real estate niche, you’d go to Google and you’d search for "real estate tips," you’d search for "real estate newsletter," "real estate e-course," "real estate this" or "real estate that." And guess what? Eventually you are going to find people out there that are great joint venture partners.

Now, once you go there and land on those pages, you’ll want to find their contact information. If you can’t find their contact information, you’ll want to use a special tool. It’s called Domain Tools. You take the URL, you throw it in Domain Tools and then what will pop up is all their contact information. So now you can contact the individuals that own that particular website.

But, what should you offer them?

What you want to do to get a lot of great joint venture partners, is to have a great converting sales letter, a great converting offer, and something that people are going to be attracted to. You want to know how many dollars per click you are averaging. That would be really good. If you know the numbers and you share your numbers with the joint venture partners, it’s going to get people motivated to do it. The other thing you should offer them is at least 50% of the deal. Of course, if you can offer them more, than that is even better!

What kinds of contests are typical to motivate affiliates?

It depends. A lot of times people sell a certain amount and then they’ll receive a product. This year I’ve won two Apple computers, which I don’t use. I gave one to my wife and the other one I'm still waiting for. I actually won a skydiving trip on Armand Morin’s dime. There’s one thing I’m currently doing where I can win a car. Recently, I was hanging out with Shawn Casey and Tellman who had just received a Lamborghini that they both won in an affiliate contest. Offering contests is a great motivator as you can see.

So, what I’m saying is the sky’s the limit. You can go as big or as small as you want. I’ve won a lot of different prizes. You need to remember that most times people do prefer getting some special product as that will motivate them to sell more of your products. Sometimes people do it to get a reciprocal mailing. Really, there are tons of things to do to motivate people. Greed is the perfect motivator ;).
