Breast augmentation, technically known as Augmentation Mammoplasty, is a surgical procedure to enhance the size and shape of a woman’s breast. It is the most popular form of breast surgery or cosmetic or reconstructive procedure to improve the body contour. It can improve appearance and restore the patient’s confidence.

Breast augmentation is the most commonly performed technique to enhance the body contour of a woman who may feel their breast size is too small, to correct a reduction in breast volume after pregnancy, to balance a difference in breast size or to correct Breast Asymmetry, or for reconstruction following a breast surgery procedure.

Breasts may be drooping due to the effects of aging, pregnancy, or even heredity. There are a number of different techniques such as plastic surgery, liposuction, abdominoplasty, etc that can be of substantial benefit in allowing women to regain their healthy, youthful shape and body structure. The best candidates for breast augmentation are women who are looking for improvement in the way they look.

Procedure In an ideal procedure, breast tissues and skin is gently lifted to create a pocket for each implant. The implant is usually inserted directly under the breast tissue or under the chest wall muscle. This kind of incision is made in the breast crease, around the nipple, or sometimes in the armpit. This is to keep scars as less severe as possible with fewer complications. After surgery, breasts appear fuller and more natural in tone and contour. And the surgical scars fade with time without giving negative impacts like soreness, inflammation, etc.

Breast implants Breast augmentation process can be performed at any age after the breasts are fully developed. Patients often return to work within a week, depending on the level and complexity of the procedure. There are basically two types of breast implants used; silicone and saline implants. Depending on your needs and personal preferences, it is the physician who will assist you in choosing the best type of breast implants for you during the consultation.

Saline breast implants are usually filled with a salt-water solution. It is a natural solution and if accidentally the implant is ruptured the body will safely absorb the liquid.

Silicone breast implants are generally filled with silicone gel. Silicone is used for breast implants because they are essentially non-reactive. The silicone breast implants are highly cohesive and hence less able to leak following a puncture.

Breast Augmentation is a method that can help patients that had babies or for patients that after breast reconstruction want to look natural again. The concept is effortless with less scaring, and results are very quick, real and positive. Even there is no risk of breast cancer, autoimmune disease, signs of discomfort or any type of illness.
