The world is going to continue to get more and more modern. Computers will get more amazing, gadgets will become more prominent, and technology is going to continue blowing us all away.

However beauty doesn’t change just because someone invented a better light bulb. The fundamentals of attractiveness, of style, of beauty itself are timeless. These are fundamental elements of humanity, which developed through exposure to the natural world. In essence, we are built to think that nature is beautiful.

Some people have more of a proclivity to the natural world than others; however it is hard to argue with a sunset. There are certain features of creation which are overwhelming.

When creating a home environment, many people seek to merge the man made architecture of the house with elements from the natural world. This can be as simple as keeping flowers in the kitchen or as complex as installing a slate back splash. Whatever home decorating path is chosen, the important thing is that urge to bring nature into our lives, and into our environments.

In many ways this is a reaction to the plastic molded world that is infringing on our lives more and more each day. With technology becoming cheaper and easier to produce, manufactured products are becoming more prominent. This can make the world around us look like a cheap copy of itself.

Nature is part of the fundamentals of being a human. We are part of nature ourselves, and so ignoring nature in favor of the man made is really a rejection of ourselves. That is why so many people become inspired when exposed to the natural world, and many artists will tell you that the best place to create is at the beach watching the ocean, or hidden deep in a dark forest.

Even as technology becomes more prevalent, people are reacting against it, by choosing to clothe their environments in natural robes. In this way, they are injecting life and vigor into the space, while reconnecting with their own primal spirit.
