Abu Dhabi, the capital city of UAE, has welcomed qualified and experienced expatriates to work on its shores for years. Being home to nearly 9% of total oil reserves of the world, no doubt oil and gas are the main backbone of the economy and are the largest employer of foreign professionals in the city. However, now the focus is shifting to other sectors as well with tourism emerging as a prominent sector looking for skilled workforce. Tourism jobs in Abu Dhabi are constantly on the rise and there are good positions open across the aviation, hotel and restaurant industries.

The tourism portfolio of Abu Dhabi is increasingly expanding and a lot of domestic as well as international investment is being made in this sector. Though oil and gas has been the main sector that employs expatriates, tourism is fast coming up. Tourism jobs in Abu Dhabi are lapped up by foreign workers not just because they are high-paying but also because Abu Dhabi is a lively and vibrant city. Though it is not as glamorous as Dubai but is very peaceful and safe. There is an eclectic mix of people staying in Abu Dhabi. Expatriates from different nationalities have settled in the city to take up flourishing tourism jobs. The lifestyle and culture are perfect for an enjoying stay.

However, before accepting any job in the city, it will be good to know a little more about the region and the work environment in the city. There is a lot of liveliness about the city because of the presence of people from so many different nationalities. It lends a colorful tone to the city and if you are planning to bring your family along, you will find a lot of nice things to do in this city. For expatriates, there is a provision of private education for their children. There is a wide choice of international schools to choose from and there are also a range of curriculum and after-school activities to choose from.

The weather in Abu Dhabi remains warm to hot for most part of the year. In peak summers, sunshine becomes to hard to bear but all buildings in the city have provision for air conditioning. So, the outside extremities can be dealt with.

Accommodation in the city is a little expensive. However, most employers offer accommodation to foreign workers or the housing allowance is a part of their salary. If you are looking to get into a tourism job in Abu Dhabi, it would be advisable to find out these things well in advance. You will generally get a well-furnished apartment or a villa to stay in. There would be fellow expatriates around and people in the city are friendly so settling down should not be a problem. If you wish, you can also join an online forum or group well in advance to network with other people working in Abu Dhabi tourism jobs and share their experiences. You can also ask your queries and get first hand information about the kind of lifestyle that you can expect in the city.
