There are many available options for telephone and mobile phone services in Germany. If you are speak only English you may find you need to focus on one of the companies that have customer service support in the English language. Some of the available companies and the services they offer are highlighted below.

For telephone service in Germany the service, bills and customer support is usually in German. If the customer needs to communicate in English they should look at companies like TKS or USArcor. Most phone networks in Germany offer customers either Analog phone service or ISDN. The Analog service is usually referred to as the "standard" option and is by far the more economical and popular choice among users today. Analog phone service is offered with caller-ID, forwarding and voicemail as part of the service package. The analog option usually comes with one dedicated number and one service line. A modem will be required to access the web via computer. DSL can be utilized with either the analog service or the ISDN service.

It is possible to get local telephone service in Germany through Telekom stores. Many plans will require a 2 year contract for their telephone and internet services. One example is TKS, a mobile phone provider in Germany that offers their plans and service from only the T-Mobile service company. The plans offered vary from base plans with a limited number of calls to higher priced plans that offer unlimited calls. Data plans and specialty smart phone plans are also usually offered. Other companies such as Vodafone, O2 and E-Plusher offer similar service plans.
