Focus. Drive. Determination.

These are three very important words to becoming successful in anything you do.

Whether you are studying for a school exam, trying to get a raise at your job, training for a sport, learning a new trade, or maybe even trying to deal with those annoying in-laws, you need to stay focused, have drive, and be determined. Without these three things, you won't get anywhere.

Let's say you're interested in making money online. You go to some websites and people offer you some free e-books of how to become successful online in exchange for your email address. You agree, and they happily send it to you. Maybe you go to 5 sites like this a day, and you now have 5 e-books laying around on your computer.

You want to make money online, but you're not sure where to start. Everyone's e-book that you receive promises to be the best available, so you want to read it. However, you have other things to do in your life, like maybe an actual job you have to go to. Generally, people are very busy. Especially those with children, time is of the essence. You want to learn how to make money, but you're time is limited.

Let's say you forget about those 5 e-books and a week later, you're surfing the net and you again come across a site that looks interesting and you get another e-book. You now have 6 e-books. The longer this process goes on, the worse it's going to get. Trust me, I've experienced this first hand.

When I first wanted to make money online, I knew nothing. I would do anything to get some free information. Within a couple of weeks, I found my computer bogged down with hundreds of e-books of information, but no time to read them. I was frustrated because I wasn't making any money, but I only had myself to blame.

Getting back to the beginning of my story, you need focus, drive, and determination. This is how you deal with information overload. You need to stop for a second and take the time and think about what you really want to do. If you have a million ideas, and start many different projects, nothing is going to get done and you will see no results. What is even worse is that you will become even more frustrated because you're taking what time you have and putting it into something that you're not getting any results from.

My advice is for you to stop, maybe read a couple of those e-books stashed away on your desktop, implement some of those ideas if you like them, and start as soon as you can. I strongly suggest you only start one thing at a time. That way you can focus all of your attention on that one thing and maybe if you start to see results from it, move on to some other of your great ideas.

Remember, the key ideas here are to be successful in anything, you need to stay focused on the task at hand and not be scattered. You need to know what you want, and stay driven and determined to get it. Just because you don't make a thousand dollars in a day, doesn't mean you should give up and start something new. Great things take time.
