Arthritis present in more than only pain. It changes the way a family lives and reacts. There is depression, frustration and helplessness. There are also moments of rage. What is most difficult to comprehend is the way interaction are redefined as families refuse to cope with the latest situations. It is vital that each member of the family readjusts himself or herself to the altered reality, if this family is to laugh again.

The first is the partner. There is no need to feel restricted in your sex life because of pain. You have to remember that your spouse is identical who has given you a lot of joy and happiness. Now it is your turn to find ways to maintain the fire continuing. You can change positions, and share moments of excitement following your spouse has taken pain killers. Most important is that the disease does not stop you from sharing moments of closeness.

If you are a young person , you may discover it difficult to handle your arthritis suffering parent as you are passing through physical as well as emotional changes. There may be periods of anger , disappointment, fear and even sadness. But what is vital is to say these feelings with not being misunderstood. Minor variations in the family day to day routines may ensure active contribution and enjoyment of each and every member in the family.

Moreover , talking freely helps bring up matters that could otherwise become bigger and harder to solve . One has to be an attentive person . When there is a two way talk, it is very important to understand the thoughts of the person at the other end.

These thoughtful steps will not lessen your parent’s ache but they for sure give him strength to deal with it. He will be prepared to face everything with no fear, if he knows the family is by his side.
