The Caloric Intake of Alcohol is Often Undervalued

LAUSANNE - With an average of 100 liters of alcohol per year and per capita , Switzerland is, relatively, a high alcohol- consuming country. Whether in friendly meetings or other occasions, alcohol is unavoidable for a lot people. The Swiss Institute for the Prevention of Alcoholism and Addiction (ISPA) sustained that alcohol is a considerable source of calories and its caloric input is often underrated. Studies show that most people consume alcohol without limiting other sources of energy.

The temperatures are milder and the days are longer. Outside, the nature is green and wonderful. When spring comes, the necessity to move and go out resurfaces. Many would have the resolution to lose the pounds taken in winter through a diet and some exercise, but often forget that alcohol is an inconspicuous but a very rich caloric source. Each gram of pure alcohol gives almost, twice as much energy as carbohydrates and proteins. Alcohol, just like food in general and physical activity, impacts the energy balance, in a way stressed by the ingested quantities. Swiss consume nearly 100 gallons of alcohol a year. For more than half of the Swiss who drink, the most consumed alcohol is bear, ahead of the wine and spirits.

Alcohol Really Provides Calories

Alcoholic beverages comprise an important amount of calories! With more than 240 kcal per deciliter, the spirits are among the most caloric alcoholic drinks. A small glass of schnapps (2 cl) contains 50 kcal. While a pressure beer at least contains 120 kcal, sparkling accounts for about 90 kcal per 1dl flute. The wines are more modest, with about 70 kcal per 1 dl glass. Thus, who drinks two beers absorbs almost as many calories as found in a chocolate bar. In addition, alcohol is often an unexpected energy intake. Various studies show that moderate alcohol consumption does not reduce the quantity of food intake: those who consume moderately alcohol clearly notive in a short term, a bigger appetite (" aperitif effect ").

Less alcohol to Lose the Extra Kilos

Alcohol can not be stored by the body, it is basically removed. Other food components must wait to be eliminated, which significantly inhibits fat burning. Studies show that increased consumption of alcohol promotes the accumulation of fat in the abdominal tissue, especially among men, hence the term "beer belly". Overall, alcohol largely contributes in taking kilos, so whoever has overweight troubles should seriously refrain alcohol consumption.

Herbal medicines to Lose Weight

Herbal therapies were found to be effective treatments for overweight and obesity. Herbs are a good means to fight obesity because herbal products are very natural products that do not result in drawbacks. Herbal therapy naturally activates burning the fat stores which your body does not need any more. Herbal drugs are remarkable and thermogenic products that also work as energy enhancers which keep you energized as they contain no Ephedra, a chemical injurious ingredient, habitually found in weight loss pharmaceutical products. Herbal treatment helps to improve the mechanism of food absorption. It burns fat effectively due to the natural properties of the herbal product.
Anyway, physical exercises remain essential to start an effective slimming action. Avoiding alcohol or at least a constant consumption of alcohol, using natural products to fight overweight and practicing sports is the best life hygiene!
