So, shopping around, trying to find the best deals, or doing some other things to keep the costs down on a wedding gown, while still trying to have something that looks stylish and exquisite. Maybe being able to find someone who can make alterations or even design a simple dress you can wear, or modify a dress with trinkets and baubles, can help. There are many websites that offer real designer wedding dresses by some of the biggest names in wedding gown design. One can literally save thousands of dollars on a used dress by buying it online, and no one is the wiser that it’s used.

You can also find designers online and possibly in your own local area who will make wedding dresses that look like it was created by one of the top designers, but costs way less. You can buy your own fabric and have it made, or if that’s not an option you will sometimes find that they will be selling knock off designer gowns that will do the trick for you. Many times, these dresses can be purchased for hundreds of dollars, not thousands.

There are also consignment shops and thrift shops where one might be able to find used wedding dresses, sometimes only worn once that are perfect. No one ever really know why someone gives up a wedding dress, but not everyone decides to keep their wedding dresses for the rest of their lives.

Something else that can be done is looking through want ads or even eBay to see if someone is selling a style of dress you might be looking for. There’s also Craigslist where some women sell their dresses.

And one last thing you can do is see if your local wedding gown stores might be having a sale at some time and trying to get in on that. I’m sure almost every woman by now has seen how some stores in the New York City area will have grand sales on one day only, and how women literally run in and grab what they want, sometimes snatching a dress out of someone else’s hands. This might be a little cutthroat, but it saves some of these women a lot of money.

There are always other ways to save money on the costs of a wedding gown. All it might take is some initiative and being willing to not have the best of everything.
