When it comes to weight loss, let's face it, when you want weight gone you want it gone fast. The only thing that irritates me more is hearing a fitness "guru" tell me how it's only safe to lose 2lbs per week. Studies have been done to prove that this is simply untrue. The best way to lose weight in a week is with a combination of the right diet and exercise program.

Diet by far accounts for over 80% of any weight loss program. So the diet aspect is what I'll be focusing on in this article.

You will need to be very diligent on your diet in order to see fast results.

All the talk in the fitness industry is about eating five to six small meals per day, yes I know this may sound like a lot to some folks but really it is absolutely a necessity and known to be one of the tricks to knowing the best way to lose weight in a week. A very easy way to think about it is that you are going to be eating about the same amount you would by eating three meals per day but you will just be breaking those meals in two. Also make sure that you are eating a lean protein source with every meal. Some good sources of lean protein include chicken, lean red meat, lean turkey meat, egg whites, and fish (these are great because they contain Omega 3 fatty acids).

Another way to blast that weight away in a week is to make vegetables your best friend. Eating vegetables will provide your body with much needed vitamins and minerals. Also the beauty of vegetables is that they are not very calorie dense, which means you can eat a large volume of them without taking in many calories but you still get that full feeling when you're done. Another great thing about vegetables is that they are high in fiber, something that no weight loss diet should be without.

Remembering to focus on diet is extremely important. Many folks find it easier to just workout and they try to get away with eating whatever they want. Sadly this simply doesn't work and many never see the results they are expecting and don't know why. Follow a diet plan that includes tips from this article, couple it with an exercise program that includes cardio interval training and you've found the best way to lose weight in a week!
