Every bride wishes to look grand like a princess - or a queen - on her wedding day. When it comes to style and designs, wedding dresses can confuse the bride. From full ball gowns and sheath gowns to empress style gowns and informal wedding gowns, there are heaps and heaps of styles and designs.

Searching for the right wedding dress is one of the most exciting parts of planning your wedding. Remember that your dream dress is there in the market itself, it is just a matter of finding it.

Where to buy the dream dress?

This largely depends on your budget. If your budget allows you can appoint a designer to work with your ideas and create a gown especially for you. Alternatively, you can buy a beautiful wedding dress and get it altered to your size from a local seamstress.

A designer dress from say Forever Yours Dresses or After 6 Dress collection will cost more as compared to one bought from a bridal boutique or from a high street store.

What style to choose?

To decide the style of your wedding dress you need to consider three things:

Season –Wedding dresses are available according to different seasons, thus you need to consider the time of year you are getting married. For example you will need to buy a shrug or wrap to keep you warm if the wedding is going to take place during winter. Even designer wedding gowns such as Forever Yours Gowns, After 6 Dress etc have dresses according to the season.

Location - Just like the season there can be different settings for a wedding. For example, a big ballgown styled wedding dress is perfect for the wedding to take place in a castle while a more slinky designed wedding dress can be worn for a wedding to take place in a hotel.

Formal or relaxed - The style of a wedding dress plays an important role in setting the tone of the wedding. Hence decide whether you want a traditional, formal wedding or something more stylish. You can buy both formal and informal wedding gowns from designer collection such as Forever Yours Gowns, After 6 Dress, Alexia Dresses and others.

If the shop allows, take a photo of yourself wearing the wedding dress you are buying. This will help you in choosing matching accessories such as veils, flowers, hairpins, shoes, purse etc.

Once you have bought your wedding dress, make sure that you go for the final fitting, preferably with a friend or acquaintance who would be with you on your wedding day so that someone gets to know how to fasten the gown and detach the train or hitch up the veil.

Finally, no matter whether you have bought a wedding dress from say Forever yours gowns collection or something pretty from the local seamstress, what actually matters is whether you are satisfied with your purchase. Your satisfaction is what matters in the end as really makes a lot of difference in how you are going to enjoy your wedding.
