Baby strollers come in many formats, sizes, price ranges from under $100 to over a $1000, you heard right, over a thousand. Should you spend that much for a childrens stroller? For those of you who want the very best and are willing to pay the price, surprisingly, there is a good selection available. The expensive strollers cater to a market that is looking for more unique features that can't be found on other strollers, the more unique the better. If that's you this could be exactly what you are looking for.

The main attraction for these expensive strollers is not only prestige ( as noted by "celebrities" who have them) but many are very versatile and can convert from a complete system unit to a single use stroller. Some have a baby seat detachable adapter that can be used in compatible car seats, others have a baby bassinet that forms part of the stroller and can be used separately. The strong points of these strollers is that they serve a growing infant from birth up to the point where a stroller is no longer needed. The cost saving of having to purchase a different stroller for each advancement in age is a big advantage.

The old saying "you get what you pay for" isn't always true, especially today. So if your going to spend the big bucks on a baby stroller or an older childs stroller know the Company and their reputation. Check for recall safety concerns as a key to quality ratings, read many reviews from people who have the exact same stroller model that you are considering.

Some of the strollers in the $1000 price range are the Bugaboo Cameleon, the Peg Perego Skate stroller and the UPP Baby Vista stroller to name a few. The most expensive is the Stokke Xplory Complete at almost $1200. A unique feature of the Stokke is that you can convert the stroller to a high chair, just how easy that is could be a blessing or a hindrance, a great convenience when dining out. It also has a reversible seat so that the baby is in eye contact with the parent.

Most of these expensive strollers are not storage friendly, most don't don't fold easily and take up quite a bit of room in a car trunk, backseat, in a van or an SUV. They are not the lightweight "umbrella" type of baby carriers with the one hand easy fold feature. Spending $1000 to have one of these strollers is a very individual decision, if you have just one child and no more planned, from my point of view that is expensive. If on the other hand you have other children who can use the stroller and more planned then the expensive stroller could represent a good value. There is another saying about quality and it is, quality remains long after price is forgotten.
