I dream every night, several times in fact. I usually remember what I dream about and I write down the details. I then use my dreams to help me to achieve my goals.
Bold statements I know, but the fact is that you can do exactly the same. As long as you have clearly defined goals that you have written down then you can harness the power of your dreams to help you reach them.
Your dreams are the expression of the images that make up the content of your subconscious mind. Your thoughts, hopes, fears, and anxieties are all expressed in the form of your dreams. But any knowledge or information that you absorb is also stored in your subconscious for use later. All you need is to feed your subconscious with the right material. Then, when you have achieved the correct frame of mind, learn to recognise the clues that are presented to you in your dreams.
There are a number of processes you can adopt to help you improve your dream experiences. Psychic suggestion, involving totally immersing yourself during your waking hours in things relating to the subject you wish to feature in your dreams, is one. This is particularly important in the hours before bedtime and could consist of some of the following:
· Reading books, magazines and articles about the subject.
· Watching films on the topic.
· Researching your subject on the Internet
· Studying maps or photographs if it relates to a particular place.
· Studying photographs or old letters or diaries relating to a person you may wish to focus upon.
· If your goal is related to money then read financial newspapers or magazines or study coins.
· For health matters read or research in the various media already mentioned but also look at your self in the mirror and focus on the relevant area.
· To confront your hopes or fears then you need again to study the subject concerned and maybe read about other people that have conquered the fear or phobia or have achieved similar goals.
· Read and study motivational and self-improvement material.
Quite simply the more you know and understand about a topic the easier it will be for you to achieve your goals relating to it. What's more the greater the volume of information you absorb the greater the resource that will be available in your subconscious mind for dream work.
You can also use the process of visualization, both to see yourself dreaming and then waking to clearly remember what you dreamed about, and to promote the right subject matter for your dreams.
The best time for this process is immediately prior to going to sleep. Try focussing on the goal, including saying it to yourself. See yourself at the point where you have achieved it and consider how it makes you feel. Also look at how you now behave and focus on the benefits you have gained.
Thirdly you can also practise positive affirmation to get your mind clearly focussed on achieving your goals through dreaming. It is done by the means of short positive statements that you should repeat to yourself, especially as you fall asleep.
