In the day and age of today looking good is on the minds of everyone. You may be a man or a woman but the fact is that everyone wants to look good. Women are more vocal about it and seem to have the social license to pamper themselves but then times are a changing and men are also getting more and more conscious of how they dress and look. A perennial problem that all of us struggle with today is the aging of the skin. There is no denying that with age, skin sags and becomes less supple. The sad part is that with the pollution and unhealthy eating habits, the process has been hastened and one develops wrinkles much faster then our grandparents did. But then we have something that our grandparents did not and that is the advancement that man has made in science and allied fields.

The area of skin around your eyes is much thinner than the skin elsewhere on your face, it loses moisture easily because there are fewer oil glands and it is therefore more susceptible to damage, damage we can cause by our own actions or neglect and the damage that intrinsic aging can inflict on us. In short it can reflect not only the passing years but our diet and lifestyle too.

Two of the most common problems that effect the under eye area are dark under-eye circles and puffiness. Bags under the eyes can be triggered by mild allergies, for example allergies to animals or certain dairy products. Puffy eyes can also occur if excess liquid collects in the soft tissue during sleep. You can find a temporary solution by simply standing and jumping up and down to allow the liquid to disperse.

One common problem associated with using the wrong eye make-up is puffiness. Having puffy eyes can make you look haggard, tired and older than you really are. This is often caused by using the wrong mascara or eye cream.

Tips to Get Rid of Eyes Puffiness:

-Get enough sleep. I'm sure many of us have failed to do this at one time or another in our lives. And we know the morning-after results: puffy eyes with dark shadows under them. We looked like raccoons, but not as cute.

-Avoid excessive alcohol consumption. This can dry out your skin, making wrinkles and fine lines appear more prominent.

-Eat more fruits and vegetables. Leafy greens and delectable fruits contain plenty of antioxidants that protect you from aging and the damage caused by harmful free radicals that attack your skin on a daily basis.

-Use an eye cream containing ingredients that have been clinically proven to remove bags under eyes as well as wrinkles and shadows -- safely, effectively, and rapidly.

  • Check your mascara - it should be changed every 12 weeks due to the possible growth of bacteria.

  • If you wake up with puffy eyes, you could be using too much eye cream. In this case, less is best.

  • Check your eye make-up removal routine - it could be too rigorous. If you are using tissue to remove eye make-up, the microscopic splintery fibers can be irritating the skin around the eye. Switch to a soft cotton ball instead.

  • Sleep with your head elevated and try not to drink too many fluids before bedtime. Reducing your salt intake can help eliminate puffiness as well.

  • Stop eating so much fast food or take out food

  • Keep your stress level under control

  • Eat more natural foods

  • Eat more green vegetables and fruits
