Drug dependence can be awful. Soon the drugs you use are not enough and you need more and more. So it is with Damages, the TV series that has allowed Glenn Close to receive an Emmy and Golden Globe for her starring role. Close is not the only one on Damages so honored. Many of the actors, creators, and writers on Damages have been recognized for their outstanding work.

A high profile lawyer from Hewes and Associates, the revered and reviled Patty Hewes, is played by Glenn Close. Her character is one that is played to perfection, you can't help but love to hate her. Along comes Ellen Parsons (Rose Byrne) who is a bright-eyed young graduate, sought after by other firms, but wants to work with Patty Hewes. Their personalities are opposite from each other, but neither wants to be controlled. Several incredible performances are given as the characters progress through the story.

Damages mixes things that happened in the past, and things that are going to happen along with the current storyline. Each moment is often an important piece of the plot so it is not a show you can miss without losing something. You must remain focused to keep up with the twisting storyline as it develops. And it's important to be observant. For instance, take a good look at Saffron's collar when Ray Fiske does in the pilot. A character might appear briefly, then return, assuming you remember him or her. Also, be ready to lose at least one of your favorite characters. In the series you never know who will come back for the next episode. The first season consists of 13 episodes, with many stars who will likely not return.

Is my addiction going to be prolonged? Is it possible for material of this caliber to continue being produced? Can more adventure be found for another season? We can only wish. If you love Damages like I do, make sure you tune in every week so we can keep this tremendous show on the air and going strong for years to come.

I would certainly recommend purchasing a HDTV, so you can enjoy your show in the best quality possible. A great lineup of digital and High Definition channels are offered by my local cable provider Comcast Cable. HD has changed my whole viewing experience. I can't believe how much I was missing. But HDTV isn't all. Comcast provides outstanding Digital Voice and High-Speed Internet service as well. Now I can research all my favorite shows and download music and video much faster that I did with my old dsl service. Plus, with Comcast Digital Voice I can make crystal clear calls nationwide with out paying long distance charges. By taking advantage of the Comcast HD Triple Play bundle I pay one monthly flat rate for all three great services. I found the best promotion online. For all your entertainment and communications needs I suggest Comcast Cable if its available in your area.
