Addiction can be a terrible thing. It becomes a problem which leaves you craving more. That is what it is like with Damages and star Glenn Close's Emmy winning main character. Several of the writers and actors have received various nominations for the show.

Glenn Close stars as Patty Hewes, a high stakes litigator with the law firm Hewes and Associates. She, again, is the person you love to hate, a part she portrays so well. Here appears Ellen Parsons, portrayed by actress Rose Byrne, who is a newly-minted graduate that turned down lucrative offers from other firms for an opportunity to work with Patty Hewes. While their characters clash, neither will submit to another's will. Several incredible performances are given as the characters progress through the story.

The show has a dizzying array of flashbacks, forwards, and events happening now. If you miss even a minute of this show, you are likely to miss a key plot development. Attention is a prerequisite for keeping up with Damages' complicated plot. You need to keep your eyes peeled at all times. Closely observe the neck of Saffron's shirt at the same time Ray Fiske does in the first episode, for example. There are times when a character will only be on the show for a moment, but they may come back later. You should be aware that at least one person you like will be gone. You never know who will return for the next in the series. Damages has a first season run of 13 shows, but only some of the starting cast will comeback for a second series.

Will I continue to be addicted to Damages? Is it possible for material of this caliber to continue being produced? Will there be further plot twists, enough for yet one or two more seasons with sufficient mystery? We can only hope! If you love Damages like I do, make sure you tune in every week so we can keep this tremendous show on the air and going strong for years to come.

One suggestion I have for viewers, if you can, I recommend investing in a TV that supports high definition so you can enjoy Damages in the highest quality sound and picture. A great lineup of digital and High Definition channels are offered by my local cable provider Comcast Cable. The show is even better when it is in high definition. Comcast provides both High Speed Internet service and Digital Voice to its customers as well. Now I can research all my favorite shows and download music and video much faster that I did with my old dsl service. In addition, Comcast Digital Voice lets me make long-distance calls with excellent sound quality for no per-minute charges. The Comcast HD Triple Play bundle allows me to subscribe to all three excellent services by paying a single monthly flat rate. I found the best promotion online. For all your entertainment and communications needs I suggest Comcast Cable if its available in your area.
