Money doesn’t bring happiness on it's own. However, it enables people to look for it in more places.

There are indeed many people who have succeeded in doubling their resources until finally, they achieved millionaire status. From starting with their payday cash and investing it in a small business that grew and became a big success — it's the story of many wealthy people. They now have a business that gives them financial rewards more than they actually need. They have a beautiful house, a nice car, and a luxurious lifestyle. These people could say that they are at the top of their game. However, it does not stop there. Most of these wealthy people have given back to society through humanitarian causes such as donations to charities, calamity funds, and the like. This is their way of making their profits more socially relevant to a changing world.

Herbert Casson, author of Six Laws of Business Success, said that every ambitious young person should have two important things: knowledge and money. Successful people started with the resources they had or with the cash they set aside, no matter how much it was. They coupled their resources with creativity, passion, and hard work, which translated into financial success. History tells us that successful business people are among the main contributors to why today’s society’s living standards have improved so much. Other than just running things efficiently to grow their business and make profits, these people put into practice ideas that eventually transcend their companies and industries and make them part of the global lifestyle.

One perfect example is Konosuke Matsushita. He started a products company with a winning attitude—he put people first before profits. He satisfied customer needs and listened to feedback from customers and workers alike. No wonder his company, Panasonic, became one of the best in the electronics industry and became part of what made Japan one of the global leaders in technology. Helping others achieve financial success brings its own rewards. Here are five important things to remember:

1. Enjoy one’s wealth and resources but not in excess. Millionaires give to charities and other causes that are well-managed and trusted.

2. Associate with positive-minded people. Creativity and growth thrives in a positive "can-do" environment.

3. Increase confidence despite setbacks. You learn from every decision, especially the bad ones.

4. Pursue passions. Mega-millionaires continue to be successful because they love what they do.

5. Think of money as means to an end. Money is just the instrument, the tool to achieve what one should really look for in life.
