More Ways to Free Link Building

Link building need not always mean that you've to spend loads of money. Use these methods to build links to your web pages and do it all without having to spend a grain.

• SUBMIT ARTICLES TO CONTENT SYNDICATION DIRECTORIES: Register with as many syndication directories as possible. Few good content syndication directories are EzineArticles, Buzzle, GoArticles, IdeaMarketers, and AllNetArticles. By submitting your articles in content syndication directories you will get links from the article directories themselves and also from people who've picked them up as content for their sites, thereby getting you more links.

• ANALYZE YOUR COMPETITORS' LINKS: Find out which pages are having links to your competing sites. You can use one of the following ways to do this:

1. Use backward links command of Google Toolbar 2. Search for link: URL (your competitors' URL) in Google 3. Use site explorer from Wahoo. 4. Online tools such as linkpopularity.com

After finding the pages having links to the competing websites, sort out the links which are free and try to get those links for your web pages as well. It can be as simple as making a comment on a blog post or exchanging a link with a relevant business.

• LINK EXCHANGE OR RECIPROCAL LINK REQUEST: A reciprocal link is one that you obtain in exchange for another. Reciprocal linking is not as powerful as it was few years ago. Google has gotten much better at detecting link exchanges and is giving them no weight or negative weight.

1. Ask friends, family and employees to link to your website from their blogs/web pages. 2. Build links from your clients' websites. 3. Search for keyword followed by 'adds URL' in Google to find relevant sites that can provide links to your web pages. You can use other options like 'submit link' or 'add link' in place of 'add URL'. 4. Participate in discussion groups and forums and drop in a link in a relevant post you make. Else, sport your web address in the signature, if permitted. 5. Upload videos on sites such as YouTube and Google Videos and generate traffic to your website from these sources.
