To help you achieve your goals of weight loss, the Jenny Craig’s diet offers two weight loss programs—the Jenny Craig In-Centre and the Jenny Direct.

By following a balanced diet through Jenny’s weight loss foods, it is expected to succeed. Other diet regimen requires you to lose self awareness but in the case of Jenny Craig’s diet, she does not want to think of it as a diet. She would rather help you learn what foods you really like and create meal plans with a Jenny consultant that include a variety of delicious foods.

By following Jenny Craig’s menus you will be making a habit out of portion controlling which is important for a healthy weight loss and successful weight management. Upon being comfortable with the daily regimen, you can now plan your own menus with the objective of being just a transition to shopping, cooking and socializing with the food of your own liking.

With Jenny Craig’s diet a balanced diet of low fat, carbohydrate-rich grains, fruit and vegetables, moderate amounts of protein—rich milk, meats, poultry and fish, and small amount of fats or "sweets". It is different from other diet plans in a sense that you will be required to buy Jenny Craig meals and snacks (at least at the beginning of the plan) in order to guarantee a controlled amount of calories and the appropriate portion sizes. It is also different because it entails weekly meetings with consultants who help in making meal plans and develop weight loss strategies.

At the beginning, the meal plan is based on the number of calories you are allowed. You will select your own food choices or choose a preplanned menu that has been calculated for you. All of these foods are pre-packaged and pre-portioned and are available in frozen or shelf stable forms. These menus are characterized by low in fat and high in fibers. They range from 1,200 to 2,300 calories.

In Jenny Craig In-Centre, the program requires a one-on-one session with a trainer-consultant weekly. A private weigh-in is conducted at each session. There is also a wide array of Jenny’s cuisine and products available on which you can base your meal plan. A 24/7 online message board and a live chat are made available to provide additional support.

In Jenny direct however, you will have phone consultations from your house, office or a location of your choice scheduled weekly. Delivery of food is done directly to your home twice weekly. A typical Jenny Craig diet menu will look like this:

Breakfast- French toast with lite syrup (Jenny meal) and ½ cup of skim milk

Mid-morning snack- Anytime Praline Bar (Jenny snack) with 6 ounces of skim milk

Lunch- a pesto pizza (Jenny meal), garden salad, and Jenny’s dressing

Mid-afternoon snack- Jenny’s cheese curls

Dinner- Chicken fettuccine (Jenny meal), ½ cup steamed carrots, and a Multiplus (Jenny supplement).

Dessert-An orange. Some days you are allowed to have Jenny’s chocolate cake.

A bit after you can eat regular foods again, you would have to check the food group exchange guidelines to set the amount of starch, mill, fat, vegetable, and fruit helpings in every meal.
