Betta fish are better known for their intriguing name: Siamese fighting fish. They might sound like they are going to make difficult pets to look after, but caring for betta fish couldn’t be easier as long as you know what you are doing. However, that said when it comes to betta fish care it is possible for you to keep other animals in the same tank; you just need to know which fish are the best company for the Siamese fighters. Bottom dwellers are usually your best bet because they tend to stay down low to the tank and will generally keep the tank clean and ignore the betta! Remember, if you place other brightly colored fish in with a betta fish, then the betta will see this as a sign that he needs to protect his home and will attack!

It might seem a little bit daunting when you are thinking about owning your own betta aquarium, but it really isn’t. All you need is a little bit of handy information and you are ready to being looking after some of the most beautiful fish in the world. Betta fish are easy to maintain and are generally quite cheap to keep as long as you know what you are doing.
