Have you ever tried to exercise to gain muscle only to be totally disappointed and discouraged because you never had anything to show for your efforts ? Well, you're not alone. There are many persons that are skinny and don't gain muscle easily. Few people know how to workout properly because the truth got covered under misinformation and hype. If you want to improve the appearance of your body you have to exercise the healthy and proper way. Let me tell you what I discovered in my experience.
I Started training for fitness when I was 16 years old. Why ?. I was very skinny, just tall 6 ft 2 and that made me look even thinner. I quickly discovered that I was a hard gainer and that progress was very difficult. Now, from the perspective of time I know that I always exercised too much and that it was counterproductive. I got used to exercise and made some small progress at first, then levelled off. The more I worked out, the less I progressed. Years passed without any visible improvement. I said to myself "I really should quit because it truly is a waste of time".
I never considered myself a bodybuilding fanatic so I decided to workout less because I liked to spend as little time exercising as possible. I was always busy with other things. So I kept reducing the time for workout until it was 10 to 15 minutes a day, 3 times a week. Surprisingly, that's when I made the best progress in my life. My body weight went from 185 lbs to 215 lbs and stabilized at this. I have kept this weight until now. I transformed myself from skinny to muscular man.
My conclusion is this: don’t ever exercise like a champion if you are not there yet. ( Bodybuilding champions were born with an unfair advantage). You must progress steady one step at the time. This method works because the intensity and regularity of your workout and a well balanced diet gives stimulus to your muscles without exhausting all the energy in your body which you need for recovery and recuperation between workouts. By the way, your recovery time will get faster when your level of fitness Improves. It really is true that you get more with less.
