My wife and I have been meaning to have our patio remodeled, ever since this big truck accident happened when we were out one July 4 morning and apparently a truck driver had a bit too much to drink and haphazardly tore his way from the highway to our kitchen. We had to perform more work than the regular floor cleaning on our Houston abode. We thought we’d still have enough money for whatever still needed fixing after everything was said and done, but apparently, we didn’t.

Let me tell you, I had no idea how much work it really is, having the patio fixed. We had to have the deck fixed, too, so we had to have them all stripped, all the planks and nails and slabs, we had to get them all out so we could install the new foundations for the repairs. I guess, we’ve been lucky because the cleaning service in Houston, TX which we hired earlier to remove all the debris had more to offer residents in Houston, Texas besides pressure washing. The staff of the cleaning company assisted us all the way in the renovation which isn’t as heavy as commercial jobs, where you really have to think of durability as you work on commercial structures since it’s liable to have more people using it day in and day out than with residential jobs where the people who’ll be using it frequently are just family, and maybe not even that frequent.

So we had the deck stripped and excavated and the foundations laid and reinforced and built a new one, a bigger one, and a better bigger patio, too, more for the wife and kids than me, of course, but we’re happier with this, you know? The patio and deck look especially great when all done up by the cleaning service with bonus pressure washing and fancied up for the Fourth of July weekend, which is also the anniversary of the accident, which pushed us to do the remodeling and such, and it’s really quite funny, if you think about it.
