Why is goal setting SO important? That's great question...

Setting goals is a powerful exercise, why? Because it supplies your brain with the ever so important ingredient it needs to GREATLY improve your chances of achieving a successful outcome!

So what is this vital ingredient?...

Let me give you this quick example, you'll probably work out the answer yourself...

Imagine for a minute, you're broke and in front of you, you have this debt, 100k debt to be exact. But worse still, if you don't repay this within 12 months, your home will be repossessed...

Repaying 100k in just 12 months is a tall order, especially when you're broke. So, what to do? Well firstly, understand that big problems are usually just a multitude of smaller, more manageable problems/tasks. With that in mind, let's make this 100k debt 'SEEM' smaller...

We have 12 months to repay the debt, so let's make the problem 'seem' smaller by dividing it by 12 months... that's £8,333.33. That sounds a bit more doable but we can make the problem 'seem' even smaller...

We know there are 52 weeks in a year, so 100k divided by 52 equals £1,923.08, sounds better. One more? OK, £1,923.08 divided by 7 (days in the week) equals £274.73...

Here's my point...

By simply goal setting and making the problem SEEM smaller, you are making the prospect of overcoming the problem much more BELIEVABLE. What sounds easier? Make 100,000 in 12 months, or make 274.73 per day...

In a sense, goal setting, in this case, is similar to 'conning' your brain into believing the problem is smaller, when in fact, it's not...

THE MISSING INGREDIENT...

When the path ahead isn't clear, you'll have a hard job trying to get your brain 'switched' on. As a result, the thought of emigrating will probably re-enter your head!

You're probably wondering how to solve the problem of making £274.73 per day, right? To that question, I would reply, "I'm just a self improvement strategist, NOT a business guru, so you're on your own there"!

I'm sure you can see how setting goals can help to make a challenge 'seem' more manageable, yes? Good! OK, let's get back to your question...

You've probably forgot the question, right?...

The question you asked me about the vital psychological ingredient your brain needs to give you a fighting chance of achieving a successful outcome. Remember?...

The vital ingredient is...

CLARITY...

You will encounter that, 'berry your head in the sand feeling' if you don't have clarity. That's why it's so, so, SO important to set your goals towards accomplishing life's many challenges. I always advise people to ha the same motto as debt consolidation companies – Small, manageable, monthly repayments!
