The service of drinks comes hand in hand with the service of food. So once the decisions with regards to food menus for your Asian wedding catering are finalised, the task of deciding on a beverage list will be important. Wedding drinks need careful planning, bearing in mind the different parts off your day.

Decide firstly whether or not you are serving alcoholic beverages and if so, when these will be served. Drinks have to be served to guests on arrival whether that’s prior to a ceremony or the reception. Your Asian wedding catering company will be able to advise you on choice of beverages for the whole day. If you are having a wedding ceremony, you will need to serve drinks prior to this and perhaps even during if it’s a lengthy Indian ceremony. Usually these would be non-alcoholic drinks for example, orange juice and bottled water. A cocktail reception would usually have a select menu of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages served by waiters using both tray service and bar service. A fully stocked bar would then be available during the lunch or dinner reception for all guests to enjoy. The service of Champagne can be reserved for the cake cutting or speeches.

Good Asian caterers will be able to give you a detailed quantity count for the beverages you select. Draw from their experience an accurate idea of amounts that will be consumed during cocktails and during the reception. You don’t want anything to run out on the day, so seek advice. Your Indian wedding caterer will probably offer a service to supply the drinks but this will be an extra charge. If you get an all-inclusive deal then make sure you know the brands of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages, there are many cheap qualities available on the market.
One other vital matter to bear in mind is "corkage". Many venues charge a corkage fee to clients supplying their own beverages. However many Indian wedding catering companies will have contracted venues with which agreements are in place to waiver the fee altogether. Ensure that you know the venues terms exactly with regards to corkage, as it can add a hefty percentage to the drinks bill.
