When taking classes in school, students find the most difficult subject they take is usually math. Although computer programming is probably more difficult, it is still a fact that students still have a lot of trouble with math as opposed to other subjects that don't include math such as English, history and social studies. One of the ways that we learn is through association. When we learn something it has to be familiar or associated with something that we already know. With mathematics, however, this is more difficult because many of the concepts in math are more abstract. As a result, is harder to learn some mathematical ideas than others because they don't easily fit with our mental representation of the world. The purpose of math, however, is to describe the world. It is used to quantify, forecast, model and understand the workings of the real world. Math is fundamental to disciplines such as sciengs of the real world.nce, engineering and business. In physics, for example, math is used to describe the forces of gravity, electromagnetism in addition to the strong force which holds together the nuclei of atoms and the weak force which causes radioactive decay. In physics, math is used to describe the effects of motion. In chemistry, it is used to decide how much of one reaction is combined with another in order to determine how much of a particular product of a reaction will result. In biology, it is used to measure population growth rates along with how different organisms interact with each other and their environment.

Math is also used to forecast and project whether or not certain events will occur in the future. This is especially important in business. One way math is used in this regard is to conduct trend analysis. The way it works is that the patterns of the past are projected into the future. By analyzing and understanding past behavior and patterns it is possible to predict what will occur in the future. This is done with interest rates, stock prices and other and economic indicators. One aspect of math is that it is used a lot in statistics. Statistics is important to mathematics and deals with the probability of events occurring out of a certain number of other events that can also occur.

Many projects cannot be initiated until they have been properly analyzed to determine whether or not they will succeed. Mathematics is used to analyze the functions and processes of systems that are desired to be known. Mathematical analysis is used to understand how things work. This is used in engineering and in planning to determine how to best go about creating something new. Math can be used to model the system under scrutiny and predict how changes in the inputs to the system will affect its outputs.

As it turns out, the key to understanding much of the world depends on understanding math. How much one understands of the world had depends on how much one understands of math. It is ironic how many people avoid math as much as possible in their lives only to have to face it at some point in the future. Math is deemed more important than ever by society. More and more people are expected to know it. If future trends continue, even more math will be required.
