Do you know what a podcast is? Just in case you don’t, a podcast is a (usually) free audio or video recording. Sometimes, there is just one single episode of a podcast. Other times, there will be a series of them, like a radio or television show.

There are just hundreds of different podcasts for anyone to choose from. No matter what topic you can think of, there will more than likely be a podcast about it. This bodes well for anyone who is thinking of sharing a podcast or two with his or her Friends on MySpace. It would be quite easy to choose a theme to go along with your MySpace layout in order to draw in even more people.

MySpace is definitely a place where self-expression rules! You can find user profiles throughout the site where people are blogging and posting photos, videos, and music to express their feelings and beliefs. Now, you can add podcasts to that list! For example, let’s say you have one of the wonderful basketball MySpace layouts that are popular with those who are fans of the sport. A podcast of a basketball game, basketball players discussing a game, or even a podcast with a comedy routine about basketball would be quite suitable for your MySpace profile.

There is also a way that you can record your own podcasts, and even add music and sound effects to them. Just think – you could record anything you wanted for the benefit of your audience of MySpace Friends! Of course, you should always keep in mind the MySpace Terms of Service, and refrain from uploading a podcast that might get your account deleted.

You can find several free streaming podcast players on the Internet. The names of the most popular ones are Big Contact, (www.bigcontact.com) Odeo, (www.odeo.com) and PupuPlayer. (www.pupuplayer.com) Using any of these fantastic freebies is quite easy. It is usually a matter of simply copying and pasting some HTML code from the free player’s website onto your MySpace profile page. The players are quite nice, with scrolling bars, volume control, playback options, and a time marker.

Once you have downloaded your free podcast player, your only task will be to choose a suitable podcast for inclusion on your profile. With a thoughtful choice of podcasts once a week, or more often, you will not only have a repeat audience, but an expanding MySpace Friend’s list, as well.

MySpaceRecommends.com provides free MySpace layouts for your MySpace profile. Download a free MySpace Layout today by visiting Free MySpace Layouts.
