Today, the Internet has become one of the most common tools available for personal socializing, entertainment, and promotion of products and services throughout the world. With the higher speeds and more capacity that comes with today’s PC’s and Internet connections, it has become easy for the average PC user to put up volumes of content in the form of audio, video, pictures and graphics. People are more able today to use interactive forms of media via the web than ever before.

Because of this, one of the most effective advertising and communicative media’s available today has become web videos. If fact, videos on the web have become so popular that they are now able to compete with TV commercials for product promotion, and even TV and movie programming for entertainment purposes!

Websites like YouTube.com and the likes, have capitalized on this phenomenon and have rooted themselves firmly in the world of video media. Most all major news and entertainment sites have incorporated video presentation and many medium to large corporations use video on their web pages for commercial product promotion.

With multiple video playback technologies coupled with high speed upload capabilities, it has become easier than ever to incorporate videos on any website hosted on the web. The cost of putting up videos on the web is dependent on the purpose and goal of the web video but even on the high end is affordable by most.

Many large and small brands name companies alike, have realized the potential of websites like YouTube.com, and are releasing videos on the web, for their own marketing campaigns. Individuals too, utilize and release web videos over the web. Some videos released over the web, are about sharing life experiences, some are about personal interviews, some for dating and so on. Anything, anyone wishes to promote is possible with video.

Videos have become extremely popular and continue to grow in use and acceptance by Internet users. There are two main methods for developing a video for use on the internet. The first and most popular is by means of using a handheld Cam Recorder, picture camera with video recording or cell phone with video camera. To edit and produce the video an additional low cost video or free software application for a PC is used. The other popular method for making videos is by recording or capturing the screen events of a PC monitor. Say you have a Power Point Presentation that you made for presentation to a client. Using a screen recording application like Camtasia Studio you can turn that Power Point Presentation into a video and use it on the web!

Internet video is not only the best and most effective marketing tool on the web, but also an excellent way to communicate and stay in touch with family and friends, express one’s point of view or provide instructional guidance or advice. The ease of use, entertainment value and attention grabbing ability of Internet videos coupled with the fact that they are inexpensive, easy to record/produce, and upload, make video production for the web a sure thing for your website.
