Having an email list that you can contact on an ongoing basis is critical if you want to
succeed online. The money is in your list. Let’s face it, if you don’t have anyone to market
to you basically have no business. Your prospects are everything and you need to have a
prospect list in order to move things along.

To get an email list what you’ve got to do is first build a squeeze page that’s going to
basically allow you to get the contact information of the people that are interested and
attracted to your information. For example, if you’re focusing on the holistic field, what
you want to do is create something that’s specifically focused on capturing people that are
interested in that niche and start building a list that you can market to.

Now, where can you find people that have email lists that are in your niche or in your
marketplace? Well, just search online and type in "holistic." I would probably also type in
"holistic solo ads." A solo ad is where you pay somebody to mail out to their list. They’ll
market your products and services and you keep all the cash. Failing that, you can also do a
joint venture with them where they again market your products to their list, but this time
they keep at least half of the revenues.

If you’re thinking about going and buying a list that you can market to, that’s really not
possible. I wouldn’t recommend doing that or you’re going to get in trouble for spamming. So
what you want to do is build your own list. I would also consider building your own
newsletter designed around specific topics such as radiation and smog, talk about how it’s
killing. You could use some scare tactics, which would be really good to get people to sign
up. Then basically inform them of the ways that they can protect themselves from that.
Having headlines offering information not readily available or easily accessible is always a
good tactic to use to grab people’s attention so that they sign up for the information you
have to offer them.

Then what you do is start marketing and advertising. You could use Google AdWords to start
off with. You could also go to the solo advertising places and have them email out to build
your list for you. You could find other people to joint venture with who will market your
product for you and get things going.

Your main focus should be building your OWN list. Those have been some great strategies I’ve
been using a lot more lately than ever to make things happen for me.
